API Security Assessment
APIs carry data between your application, users and other services. We check whether agreed endpoints enforce the right access and validation rules, including attempts to reach another account’s records or invoke restricted actions.
What We Can Assess.
We select relevant checks for your systems. Your proposal confirms what is included and what is excluded.
Authentication
Authentication, token handling and access to agreed API operations.
Record and Function Access
Object-level and function-level authorisation across test accounts.
Data and Input Handling
Excessive data exposure, input validation and relevant error handling.
Resource and Workflow Limits
Resource limits and business-flow abuse checks, only within safe, agreed limits.
Before Testing Starts.
Access and Preparation
Share the API inventory or specification, environments, authentication method and roles. Provide dedicated test credentials and representative requests where needed. Identify integrations and endpoints that must be excluded.
Scope and Limits
The scope defines endpoints, roles and permitted request volumes. Load testing, denial-of-service activity and third-party API testing are excluded unless specifically authorised and planned.
Findings Your Team Can Use.
Your agreed deliverables can include a management summary, technical findings with evidence and recommended fixes, and results from agreed retests. The proposal defines testing depth, retest coverage, time limits and any additional fees. Your team implements changes unless implementation support is separately agreed.
